URINE PROFILE
Amphetamines/Methamphetamines - A class of stimulants which when taken outside
of medical supervision are considered substance abuse. Testing for
Amphetamines/Methamphetamines may include special testing to differentiate illicit
forms from possibly legal medication.
Reference Range: Negative
Blood (Hemoglobin) - Presence of Blood in urine may indicate urinary tract
disease or recent heavy exercise.
Reference Range: Negative
Cocaine - Detects the presence of metabolites indicative of recent Cocaine use
in any of its forms - smoked, inhaled or injected.
Reference Range: Negative
Cotinine - a metabolite of nicotine, is an indication of tobacco or nicotine
use.
Reference Range: 0 to 9 ng/mL
Creatinine - Increased levels of Creatinine may be associated with kidney
disease, muscle disorders or dietary factors (high protein intake). Decreased values may
reflect urinary dilution.
Reference Range: 10 to 300 mg/dL
Drugs of Abuse Screen - A battery of tests for the more commonly encountered
Drugs of Abuse.
Reference Range: Negative
Glucose - Glucose in urine usually due to uncontrolled or poorly controlled
diabetes mellitus.
Reference Range: Negative
Granular Casts - may be associated with any condition in which red blood cells
leak into the urinary collection system, as in renal disease or heavy exercise.
Reference Range: 0 to 5/40 lpf
Hyaline Casts - are often associated with significant proteinuria.
Reference Range: 0 to 5/40 lpf
